1. Risk

Definition:
An uncertain event that can affect project objectives (time, cost, scope, quality).

Simple Meaning:
Aisi situation jo project ko impact kar sakti hai.

Example:
Crane failure during pump erection is a project risk.

2. Risk Management

Definition:
Process of identifying, analyzing, and controlling risks.

Simple Meaning:
Risk ko identify karke control karna.

Example:
Heavy lifting ke liye backup crane arrange karna.

3. Risk Register

Definition:
A document listing identified risks, their impact, and mitigation actions.

Simple Meaning:
Risk list with action plan.

Example:
Monsoon delay, material delay, manpower shortage — sab register me list.

4. Risk Mitigation

Definition:
Actions taken to reduce risk impact or probability.

Simple Meaning:
Risk kam karne ke steps.

Example:
Material advance order to avoid delay.

5. Risk Response Plan

Definition:
Strategy for handling each identified risk.

Simple Meaning:
Risk aaye to kya karna hai.

Example:
If pump delivery delay → alternate supplier plan.

6. Residual Risk

Definition:
Risk remaining after mitigation actions.

Simple Meaning:
Control ke baad bhi jo risk bacha hai.

Example:
Backup crane hone ke baad bhi lifting risk 100% eliminate nahi hota.

7. Resource

Definition:
People, equipment, or materials required for project work.

Simple Meaning:
Manpower + machine + material.

Example:
Fitters, riggers, crane, welding machine.

8. Resource Allocation

Definition:
Assigning resources to project tasks.

Simple Meaning:
Kaun sa resource kis kaam me lagega.

Example:
2 fitters + 1 welder assigned for piping work.

9. Resource Leveling

Definition:
Adjusting schedule to balance resource usage.

Simple Meaning:
Resource overload ko balance karna.

Example:
Ek hi crane do jagah required ho to schedule adjust karna.

10. Resource Plan

Definition:
A plan that defines resource requirement for the project.

Simple Meaning:
Kitne log aur machines kab chahiye.

Example:
Erection phase me 20 manpower required.

11. Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM)

Definition:
Chart showing roles and responsibilities for project activities.

Simple Meaning:
Kaun kya kaam karega.

Example:
RACI matrix (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed).

12. RACI Chart

Definition:
A type of RAM showing responsibility roles.

Simple Meaning:
Role clarity chart.

Example:
Project Manager = Accountable
Site Engineer = Responsible

13. Requirement

Definition:
A condition or capability needed by the project.

Simple Meaning:
Client ki demand ya need.

Example:
Pump pressure 250 bar required.

14. Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)

Definition:
A document linking requirements to deliverables.

Simple Meaning:
Requirement track karne ka document.

Example:
Each client requirement mapped to design and testing.

15. Rework

Definition:
Work that must be redone due to errors or defects.

Simple Meaning:
Galat kaam ko dobara karna.

Example:

16. Review

Definition:

Check karna.

Example:
Drawing review before fabrication.

17. Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Definition:
Technique to identify the main cause of a problem.

Problem ka asli reason dhundhna.

Example:
Repeated bearing failure → lubrication issue root cause.

18. Rolling Wave Planning

Definition:
Planning near-term work in detail and future work at high level.

Simple Meaning:
Abhi ka kaam detail me, future ka rough plan.

Example:
Current erection detail, future commissioning rough plan.

19. Request for Proposal (RFP)

Definition:
A document inviting vendors to submit proposals.

Simple Meaning:
Vendor ko proposal dene ke liye request.

Example:
Laser cutting machine ke liye RFP issue.

20. Request for Quotation (RFQ)

Definition:
A request to vendors for price quotation.

Simple Meaning:
Rate mangna.

Example:
Pump supplier se quotation lena.
